28 x 35.5cm. Brushed Aluminum.
The Chicago Water Tower is one of my favourite landmarks, not only for its beautifully intricate stone design, but also because of its historic significance.
Built in 1869 it survived the Great Chicago Fire of 1871, when much of the surrounding areas were destroyed.
This piece was created from my original photograph and digitally coloured with a vivid blue sky to exaggerate the separation of the old tower from its modern neighbours. The image is printed on brushed aluminum, which gives the piece an etched appearance and brings out the lovely, repeated patterns of the stone tower.
NB: 'Chicago Water Tower' is a limited edition of 25 and is made to order. It can usually be created and delivered in around two weeks.
