The concept behind "Chicago Works" was to incorporate a vibrant neon color scheme, specifically using a shade of red rose, while capturing the perspective of a CTA train from the south side of Chicago.

The gears featured in the design symbolize the industrious nature of the city, while the abundance of pipes serves to accurately reflect the urban landscape.

The inclusion of a sink and toilet within the artwork highlights the often-overlooked efforts required to maintain basic amenities, such as running water and functioning plumbing.
