Tamale Guy

The genesis of my "Tamale Guy" painting was sparked when I attended a poetry slam with my sister and heard a poem titled "The Tamale Guy" by Kevin Coval.

Having the memory of purchasing tamales from the man in the poem during late-night visits to bars, I thought it would be a perfect opportunity to create a visual representation or that memory.

It captures the energy of late night bar crawling in Chicago.
